Our Mission:

We support and promote interdisciplinary academic research that aims to facilitate and sustainably understand environmental and social problems. We are also dedicated to providing liberal arts and professional education that can use to understand complex environmental issues with diverse perspectives, and that seeks to integrate multiple disciplines like physical science, social science, arts, and humanities. We are exclusively encouraging and sustaining the community partnership along with creating a network of transversely local, regional, national, and global scale partnerships to persuade the collaborative efforts across different departments, colleges, and schools with government, private and non-profit organizations.

Our Vision:

To undertake world-class research and education that enables and enhances water-food-energy-climate – nexus security and sustainability. We define this nexus security as the sustainable use and protection of natural resources, the safeguarding of access to natural resources functions and services for humans and the environment, and protection against socio-environmental hazards (such as flood and drought) for both humans and nature. Thus, through our most advanced and thorough research and technological interventions, we want to ensure that societies can enjoy a natural resource-secured sustainable future.

Creating interdisciplinary collaboration

Creating interdisciplinary collaboration integrating areas ranging from engineering to environmental and social sciences that recognizes the societal dimensions of water security, human impacts on the environment, and the linkages and feedbacks between atmosphere, land, and water systems.

Developing the knowledge, science and technologies

Developing the knowledge, science and technologies needed to support integrated water management in the face of uncertain climate and water resource futures to recognize the societal dimensions of water security, human impacts on the environment, and the linkages and feedbacks between atmosphere, land and water systems.

Addressing local, regional, and global water security

Addressing local, regional, and global water security needs by integrating different types of expertise and knowledge by integrating not only scientific knowledge, but also experiential and practical experiences coming out of local communities addressing and helping to create stronger and more sustainable local, regional, and global water security agendas.

Growing partnerships with key stakeholders

Growing partnerships with key stakeholders to translate science into policy and management support to meet water security challenges, including needs related to water, food, energy, and ecosystem services (i.e., benefits to human welfare), climate change adaptation and mitigation challenges.

Transferring our state of the art methods

Transferring our unique interdisciplinary state of the art methods to local/regional/national governments and authorities, including Remote Sensing and Geoinformation (Geospatial) Technology and its application to Government Departments and various users through Pilot Projects/ Operational Projects.
